Flying Sub
The second season of Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea featured some changes. One of them was the addition of a small vehical called The Flying Sub.
The first episode the Flying Sub appeared in was " Time Bomb" (airdate Sept, 1965) The last episode we see the flying sub in is Death Clock (airdate March 24, 1968) The Flying Sub also was used in the Irwin Allen produced presentation pilot " City Beneath The Sea" and the eventual film. In the feature and presentation pilot the sub was re- named the Aquafoil.
Aurora Plastics made a model kit of the Flying Sub in 1968 with a beautiful detailed interior and two figures of Admiral Nelson and Captain Crane.
In 1975 Aurora re-released the Flying Sub once again with different box art but basickly the same kit.
In 1989 Tsukuda Company of Japan released a reissue of the Aurora Flying Sub as did the Monogram Company. Same beautifully detailed kit as the Aurora.
