TURN BACK THE CLOCK -by Sheldon Stark
Summoned to investigate the story of a man who turns up tanned and healthy after being lost for nine months in Antarctica, Nelson is led to a prehistoric world.
The Seaview's mission is to investigate the possibility of a tropical oasis in Antarctica.
Jason Kemp, lost in a frozen wasteland for nearly a year, has been found, unable to report where he's been but plagued by nightmares of a tropic world rampaged by dinosaurs.
Admiral Nelson takes Joson's financee, Carol, expert undersea photographer, to Antarctica to try to duplicate the circumstances of Jason's disappearance in the company of three scientists, one of them Carol's father. The last Jason can remember is going down in a diving bell in a current of strangely warm water. The Seaview finds the current, and Jason, Nelson, Carol, and Captain Crane all go down in the diving bell.
They are immediately caught in a tidal surge, drawn through underwater caverns and cast ashore by a tropic pool. By the time they perceive they are in an oasis of prehistoric time with dinosaurs struggling in the distance, they are found by Carol's father, Dr. Denning. At the sight of Jason he angrily gives -a reason for the supposed amnesia; Jason caused the deaths of the two others of the team.
The issue fades as aII are captured by. natives bent on killing them. They escape by a ruse, only to be trapped in a volcanic cave running
with rivers of lava and presided over by a Fire Monster that kills Jason. The others manage to get to the frozen wasteland beyond just as the volcano explodes, destroying all they have just seen .
